never over-eat again!
I've learnt a very important lesson today, and that is that my stomach can NO longer stomach as much food as I was able to when I was a Secondary school/JC student. Never again will I force myself to eat so much stuff during buffets. I am still feeling extremely sick over the Dim Sum buffet I had for lunch today, so much so that I haven't had the guts to eat anything since then. Seriously. I shall swear of binging man. Its not worthed it!

I feel as if the food's still stuck in my oesophagus and that its unwilling to go down into my stomach. God I feel like a bomb just ready to blow.

Honestly, I rather have diarrhea.

i loathe red light cameras
Today was a day where everything on the road went wrong! The number of times I felt like killing myself by driving directly into traffic, gosh, it was horrible. I am still very frustrated at my stupidity and impulsiveness.

Anyway, what happened was that I was on my way to Holland Village from school to meet up with Alex and Geraldine when I went past this traffic junction at Buona Vista, it was already Amber when I approached it so I decided to accelerate and beat the light, but unfortunately the light turned red when half my car crossed the junction. It was then that I chose to look up and saw, to my horror, a sign that said 'RED LIGHT CAMERA'.
At that very moment, it felt as if someone had just told me that I was infected with melioidosis causing Burkholderia Pseudomallei. Its not the worst thing that can happen to you, but its certainly an awful feeling. So I was so furious with myself that I just had to go back to the scene of the crime to see if I had really beat the red light camera, because I did not notice a single camera or any flash then. So I did a U turn, drove all the way back to NUS, U-turned onto AYE and did the same route over again.
What I noticed was that the junction that had the sign was actually BEFORE the cameras (which were located at the next junction!) - which meant that the sign serves as a warning for people wanting to beat the red light for the next junction. This meant that I did not do anything wrong and that I did not get caught by the camera and did not just incur a $300 fine and 6 demerit points. (I think and hope that I am RIGHT.)

Feeling slightly better that I may have been saved by a miracle (and solemnly swearing that I will never try to beat a red light again!) I went ahead to Holland Village. Unfortunately, parking there was horrendous - it was impossible to find any parking there at around 7.
So I drove out of the public carpark and decided to go park at the carpark of Holland Village shopping centre. Unfortunately, the carpark was full and there was a queue for it, so I joined the queue, only that my car was in the yellow box of a traffic junction.
After a long wait, I realised that I was never going to get a lot there any time soon, plus I was already running late for the stipulated meeting time, so I decided to go and park at the multi-story carpark opposite Holland Village.
I decided to wait for the light to turn red because I needed to filter out of the yellow box, and considering the amount of traffic then, it was probably only safe to do it when the light was red.
So I did that, filtered out when the light was red, and because I most certainly could not stay in the yellow box of a junction, I went straight, effectively beating a red light. It was at this moment, that I noticed for a second gut wrenching, heart breaking time, that there were CAMERAS at the junction as well.

However, I did not notice any flash or any indication that the cameras were functional. Nonetheless, for the second time in a short duration of twenty minutes, I felt like I wanted to kill myself all over again.
The idea that I might have to pay a total of $600 dollars in fines and have my license REVOKEDs after just a month of earning it, felt like someone telling me that I've most likely been infected with HIV (after some needle stick injury!). Right now, I feel like I'm just waiting for the results of the Western Blot HIV confirmation test, and its a horrible torture to be stuck in this state of limbo. Boo-hoo.

It was a miracle that I was able to find the heart to meet the two of them after that. But I'm glad I did. We went to have dinner at NYDC and then desserts at the 2AM dessert bar located at some ulu corner of Holland Village - its a place that many of our other classmates have been to before, and since Geraldine surprised us all with a request to go out to have some desserts and wine, we decided to visit that place and try out the cuisine there.
Of course, only Geraldine ordered dessert wine (I am a DRIVER and Alex claims he is allergic to alcohol!) but the three of us ordered desserts as well. Alex's Tiramisu was fantastic, Ger's Mudslide was weird, and my Blackberry was... abstract. Still, the desserts there were good, and if you don't mind the rather hefty price, the place is still a good place to go relax and chill with a couple of friends or so.

Very soon, we started spewing nonsense again. Talked about lots of stuff, the usual nonsensical crap, my usual nonsense (Is He? Is She? ISABELLA!), Alex's usual cryptic-ness, Ger's usual rubbish and also serious stuff, like the state of our relationships, marriage, children, etc etc.
It was enjoyable, lots of laughs, because I insisted that Ger's becoming an alcoholic and was drunk, she kept insisting that she was not, but got very high; Alex acting as if he was able to judge the level of drunkness that she is in, and she insisting that Alex and I were more drunk that she was because we were both so nonsensical.
I've got to admit, I was high, but not on alcohol, but rather due to the pine leaves that I was smelling, because my dish had a couple of pine leaves given to us and you were supposed to smell it to give you a different taste or something. ANYWAY, it was abstract, and although I didn't really get it, I HAD to act as though I understood it.

After that, I offered to send both of them home. What's up with me and sending people home? I remember the first lesson that Kailiang taught me after I got my license was always to learn to say NO. So far, I've never said 'no' to anyone, but then neither does Kailiang. But oh what the heck, I might have my license revoked so really, I shouldn't care about that right now. Grrrrrr.

P.S: I just read Geraldine's blog and she calls me and Alex her GIRLFRIENDS, to quote her exact words, 'they're like this bunch of great girlfriends that most girls have, that I don't.' Although I most certainly RESENT that label, it is no doubt true. I would much prefer the term 'listening ear' though. But anyway, that's what die-hard friends are for. I know they would do the same thing for me, so really, its the least we could do for her.

I should stop now.

this and that
Okay, today's Earth Day! I hope you guys wore green (like I did!) to show your support for the call to prevent global warming!
Anyway Live Earth is currently on, but don't think I'm gonna watch it. Too long a concert, and it'll probably bore me to sleep.

I'm gonna update about the week I had. Apart from Transformers (which was a big highlight of my week!) I did other things as well.

Monday and Tuesday was spent mainly at my Anatomy group's sleep-over at Huipei's Dad's place at Emerald Green. Its a nice little shop-house apartment thingy that her Dad's renting out, so we took the opportunity to camp there before its being occupied.
We played quite alot of games, like Mahjong, Poker, Bridge and some character analysis game that Huipei brought.
We also went drinking at Balcony - I must say that the anti-smoking legislation is probably one of the best things to ever happen to Singapore - pubs and bars and clubs are so smoke free now, making it all so bearable.
The rest of the lot slept quite early on Monday, but Huipei, Gerard and me managed to stay up til like 5, watching 'Mind Your Language' on Gerard's laptop. It was hilarious, good old British comedy that's very very cheeky.
Unfortunately, I basically died when I tried to sleep after that - it was so darn cold, I ended up going out of the room to sleep. I was pretty knocked out for the rest of the morning. I only woke up at around 11 when the rest of the guys bought McDonalds back.

After that, it was a whole afternoon of Poker, while we waited for Yusrina to arrive. I had really rotten luck that day, lost all my money!
Peishan kept winning and winning, eventually, the guys named her as Martha Steward, and starting concentrating our efforts to destroy her wealth.
It only worked when Gerard kicked her Coffee over the floor, and when Zhiyong came back from lunch to erm, void. After that, she started losing money due to the apparent change in Feng Shui, and Zhenwei and Matthew managed to acquire some wealth to significantly challenge her position.
In the end, we managed to take away quite alot of her wealth, but Yusrina's arrival brought back some of the luck for Peishan, and she managed to stay in the game.
So in the end, we decided to have a show hand round, a winner take all challenge.
It was really quite exciting - all of us thought that Zhenwei managed to trounce Peishan because he had a bigger Ace or something, but then, Yus suddenly announced that she had two pairs and all of us fell into a shocked silence - Yusrina, the newcomer to the game, had just won all our money! The horror!

After that, we went to Taka for some late lunch/early dinner. Then we decided to call it a day cause all of us were really quite shagged.

On Friday night, my brother and cousin organised a supper gathering at Pasir Panjang food centre to eat at my family's favourite seafood place.
There are two things that I would only do when either my brother or cousin is back - supper and sports. Last Saturday, it was to eat Bak Chor Mee at Bedok. On Friday, it was to eat assorted seafood like cockles, mussels, dogshells, barbecue stingray, barbecue squid etc.
So my family, along with my other cousins and uncles and aunts, went down to Pasir Panjang and ate lots of seafood. I love the dogshells and the barbecue squid! But I think I had too much fresh bloody cockles that day - I was living in mortal fear that I would get Hepatitis or something.
But it was nice chatting with my cousins over a nice meal. It was also the first time in ages that my family actually had a happy mealtime together - I guess, with the whole business of the house FINALLY settled, we can finally stop quarreling and bickering for awhile.

Today, I went bowling at Raffles Town Club, again, something initiated by my brother.
I went with him to bowl with my Aunt and three of our younger cousins. One of them is in her school's bowling team, so she sorta challenged my brother to a tournament.
I guess I was just there to play a supporting row - after all, my skills in sports are quite non-existent so I guess I'm there more for the leisure of it really.
But bowling's fun! Its one of the few sports that I actually have an interest in and there's something therapeutic about flinging the ball at pins with the intent of knocking them all off.

One of my cousins is really very very amusing. She bowls by actually throwing the bowl onto the lane, and needless to say that the ball always enters the drain. She's so adorable really.
She's the one who is quite earnest in pronouncing words, but has a weird ability in turning the words into really really strange sounding forms.
For example, she pronounces 'Spongebob Squarepants' as 'SpongeBOOB Squarepants', and when my cousin (Astee) and I first heard it, we couldn't stop laughing. But she didn't know what was wrong with it, and just kept calling him 'SpongeBOOB'. I tried to tell her the difference between Spongebob and Spongeboob, but decided to not tell her what Spongeboob really entails, lest her 8 year old mind gets tainted.
Its quite hard to find 8 year old as innocent as her these days, so really, lets not ruin her.

Been watching the Wimbledon championships on TV these days.
The Ladies finals was just over and Venus Williams won this year's Grand Slam. It was quite an unexpected victory because I thought World No.1 Justine Henin had a chance in winning it, but she unexpectedly got kicked out of the Semis by some French upstart called Marion Bartoli, who is honestly, quite fat.
And the two most beautiful tennis players - Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic (I've got to admit, she is stunning! Gerard has got high class taste!) got kicked out as well, Maria in the earlier rounds and Ana by Venus in the Semis.
So it was a Venus versus Bartoli final. Not quite surprised that Venus won - she's been playing marvelously this season.

The Men's semis are now underway. I'm a Roger Federer fan, so I hope he gets into the finals and eventually wins the trophy. He is such a master class player and is such an all rounded one. He has a kind of flair, a kind of gentlemanly air to him when he plays tennis, which I think, is what tennis is all about.
Tennis is such a gentlemanly, civilized game, and its really like watching a nicely produced drama. But anyway, I hope Federer (world no.1) wins his semis against Richard Gasquet, while Novak Djokovic (world no.4) defeats Rafael Nadal (world no.2).
I don't like Nadal, he reminds me of a troll. No offence, but I think he is a player that tends to rely on brute strength.
And I think I've become a new fan of Djokovic, who's quite an all rounded player, just that he's still quite new and inexperienced. Plus he has shown lots of grit and determination to fight his way into the semis, which was very very impressive.
So really. I don't think Djokovic can defeat Nadal, but if he does, then its better for Federer, cause I think ultimately, it'll be much easier for Federer to face Djokovic then Nadal in the finals.
Oh well. But tennis is a very fractional and unpredictable game. Lets just see how everything goes. I should quickly finish this entry now and rush down to follow the game!

UPDATE: The semis just ended and its going to be a Federer/Nadal Final. Djokovic had to retire and concede the semi due to injury. I think its going to be a titanic battle and I can hardly wait! I hope I'll be able to catch it though, I've got to be at my Granddad's for dinner tomorrow and I'm quite certain that they don't have SCV...

4I meddies outing
On Tuesday evening (26/06/07), I went to Ang Mo Kio Hub for what was supposed to be a 4I meddies gathering.
Unfortunately due to certain reasons, only 3 of the 5 of us turned up. I have no idea if David actually invited Yih Chyn or not, and since Zejia was down with a fever, it was just him, me and Bingcheng.

We had dinner at New York New York. I had a juicy burger, which was really juicy. I had quite a messy time eating that burger which kept leaking juices all over the bloody table.
It was quite a nightmare, but in the end, I managed to consume that burger as best as I could. Apart from the fact that it was dripping juices like a leaky sponge, it actually tasted quite good!
Also had a rather nice bowl of vegetable soup, which was quite delicious actually. Tasty and healthy to boot!

After dinner, it was just more aimless wandering. There wasn't much movies to watch, and although David wanted to watch Nancy Drew, I absolutely refused to watch that film - so in the end, we didn't watch any movies. (I'm sorry David, but you can watch the movie another time. Just don't do it with me around.)
I was also struck by a sudden urge to buy a box of durian pancakes for my family, and ended up queuing for an hour just to buy a box of 5 durian pancakes. In the end, to reward myself for my amazing show of resilience and patience, I also purchased a box of 20 durian puffs.
Unfortunately, I am now suffering from a sore throat due to an over indulgence in durian puffs - I ate around 10 of the puffs for supper last night and woke up with the feeling that someone had plugged my throat with goo.
So I'm not so fond of my durian puffs anymore. Instead, I've been trying to remedy the situation by eating lots of strepsils and drinking lots of warm water. I think I need to rest before the goo accumulates and spills out of my nostrils and ear holes or something. Argh.

Once I had purchased my Durian goods, we sat down at the fountain for some good old reminiscing. Its amazing that I can still remember the exact sitting arrangement of my secondary 4 classroom.
And I can remember the names and characters of the people in it too. Unfortunately, I have lost contact with quite alot of them. I probably am aware of only approximately half of their whereabouts - the rest are really just... non-existent to me right now.
Its quite sad, but the truth is I was never that close to my secondary 3/4 classmates in Chinese High - I had a very small circle of friends in 3/4I, was friendly to the some of them, and basically didn't really bother socializing much with the rest of the class.

I think I've changed quite a lot since my days in Chinese High. David and Bingcheng were both saying that I've changed, but exactly how I had changed, is still a sort of mystery to me.
Bingcheng was telling me that I was 'very anti-establishment' during my days in Chinese High, and used to frighten people off because I was 'always sulking and in a sullen mood' whereas David said I 'didn't like to talk much' and was 'just very different'. I guess they were right.
I remember being a very very angry kid in Secondary school. I was definitely very anti-establishment, I despised the majority and would usually choose to do things my own way, and would select a path that would obviously deviate very greatly from the general consensus.
I definitely didn't bother to socialize. If I met a group of strangers, I wouldn't bother to be the first one to offer a handshake or make an effort to get to know you - I was more of like the guy who would just not care: if you wanted to talk to me, I would most certainly talk to you, but if you didn't want to, I wouldn't care either.
(I know, I know, very AP right? But what to do? I was that kind of person then.)

And with regards to teachers, I remember being the kind of student who would respect the teachers I felt were competent, but would utterly loathe those that I felt were incorrigible, so much so that I wouldn't care if my grades for that respective subject would suffer as - as long as I hated that teacher, I would develop an intense dislike for that subject as well.
That was the reason why I was failing my A-maths in Secondary 3, because I felt the teacher who was teaching us was a fraud, so I refused to do well and put in effort for mathematics. And when our maths teacher was changed in Secondary 4, my grades for mathematics saw a definite improvement, only because I respected the new teacher and his teaching style.
And my intense dislike for physics could be attributed to the fact that I felt that my physics teacher in secondary 3 and 4 was an absolute joke. He was basically a male Trelawney, and he looked the part to boot, with his over-sized spectacles that made him look like a dragonfly or something, plus his tendency to speak in overenthusiastic/overmystical gestures about things like waves and forces and light rays.
I was so turned off by his nonsensical teaching style that I became rather turned off with the subject he was attempting to teach as well, and thus, this officially led to the demise of what little interest I had in physics.

So yeah. I think I have long moved on from those angry, angsty days. I still think some things won't change, such as the fact that I'm pretty anti-establishment, and also the fact that I tend to choose to path I want to choose, even if its not exactly the path most traveled.
But I think I've definitely mellowed over the years, I'm less reckless in that area these days - I'll actually stop to think about the consequences before doing anything too drastic. I think I've definitely lost my edge now.
And I won't be non-conformist just for the sake of being non-conformist, which is something I definitely would do sometimes when I was in Secondary school.
I am still proud of the fact that I have non-conformist tendencies, or even a social conscience that's more skewed towards causes that aren't necessarily supported by the majority.
But of course, I'm also a bit conservative as well, so I guess I'm more of a conservative liberal or liberal conservative (whichever term you prefer to use.)

And in terms of socializing, okay, I think JC changed that considerably. I think I'm definitely more open to making friends and socializing these days, at least I know I'm no longer that kind of person who chooses to be a hermit. I definitely talk alot now, in fact I think sometimes talk too much.
But I guess there's still a limit as to the amount of friends I choose to make - and when I meet people that are just acquaintances, I tend to revert back to my old character of avoiding them, or ignoring them even, because I seriously don't know how to relate to them - a kind of shock or even fear courses through me every time I meet someone that I recognise but isn't close to.
I'll be gripped with a sudden urge to hide or disappear as fast as I can. Don't ask me why, I'm just like that. Its just a innate part of my character to not want to have to socialize with people that I am not close to.
Maybe I fear the perceived awkwardness of the situation. Yes that has to be it. I am very very fearful of awkward situations. Especially awkward silences - they KILL ME.

I think one thing comes clear from such reminiscing sessions of old classmates - its a pity that I wasn't more into keeping contact with old friends.
Just that well, the people I was really close to were the CO kids, and not 4I. My loyalty was to my CCA and not my class then.
But things change when people grow older and develop as individuals. I don't really know whether I've changed alot or changed very little - I guess that's up to the people who have known me since Secondary School.
But one thing is for certain; whether we change for the better or the worse, its best not to overindulge in what is nothing more than memories of the past. Let us instead, work on paving the way to a better future.

Marutama Ra-men
For Mothers' Day, we had the best Ra-men I had ever tasted on local shores.
And there's good reason for it to be so, considering that we paid 15 dollars for each bowl of delicious, authentic, tantalizing Ra-men.

Marutama Ra-men, located on the 3rd floor of the Central. You'll have to queue for roughly twenty to thirty minutes to get a seat in the cosy little Ra-men shop, but the food is worthed the wait.

I haven't felt so satisfied with a bowl of noodles in such a long time.

71 guys outing
I met up with my class guys today! About time too. I think its been ages since we had a proper 'all guys outing'. It was a pity Alex couldn't make it due to his fetish for Saturday duties, but hey, a turn out of 6 out of 7 guys is still good.
Oh well. The disadvantages of having so little guys in your class. Haha.

I arrived third today, around 15 minutes late. I'm sorry Kheng Wee and Yisheng! I didn't mean to be late, seriously. Blame it on the road conditions! There's always a jam at the junction near Tekka Mall. Irritating.
But anyway, the rest of the guys were later than me, so the 3 of us made our way first to the restaurant to have our favourite Ah Yat dim sum. We chose to go to the Bugis branch, which we have never been to before because it didn't offer any discount. But we got so tired of walking into Turf City for the branch which offered the 50% discount so we had to exchange cheaper prices for the greater level of convenience.

By a sheer stroke of coincidence, we were allocated the table 71. Can you imagine our delight? Guys from class 71 being allocated the table 71. We should have bought lottery or something.
We were feeling quite out of place in the restaurant because it was situated in a hotel, and I think most of their clientele is made up of rich tourists who were ordering huge abalone slices and stuff. And here we were, a bunch of university students and NSFs, complaining about the lack of discounts and high prices. It was quite amusing.
Anyway, Hanjie, Anthony and Mao Jiang eventually arrived. We ordered lots of our favourite Dim Sum delights, like the delicious 龙须 and 猪肠粉. Despite the slightly higher prices, we just decided to let it all go and just eat. Just kept pigging out. It was really quite heavenly. Haha.
In the end, I think the assistant captain of the restaurant got so impressed with us that she offered us a 15% discount, and told us to come back next time and look for her so that she'll offer us a discount again. So we were quite happy! Haha. In the end the bill amounted to around $20 each, which we felt was quite worthed it considering the amount of food we ordered. Money well spent.

We had a fun time catching up. I haven't met Mao for such a long time (I think the rest of the guys too.) He is the only guy among us 7 to sign on as a Navy Officer, so his life is remarkably different compared to the rest of us. He hasn't commissioned yet, he is commissioning on 10th of June, but since he is a LSA recipient, he is gonna start University this August, faster than the rest of the guys still in the military. Plus the fact that he was the only guys from our class to be enlisted in March, he was in a batch totally different from us. So his experiences in the military, is so different from us.
The stories he kept telling us, about how his batch was filled with Poly graduates who are so much more... erm, promiscuous and flippant and rebellious than us JC graduates are so amusing. Just listening to how he has to deal with them, and how exasperated he gets is quite funny. But you just know that Mao has his ways of surviving without being tempted by their wild lifestyles, cause he is a man of principle and he knows how to deal with them, to politely reject their offer to go 'bang bang' with them without being rude.
Anyway, Mao is just simply Mao. Still the same old gentle giant with the funny sense of humour. Haha. Really nice catching up with him.

After lunch, we decided to go walk around at Bugis to see what we could do. The theatre there was screening nothing but "Spider-man 3" which most of us had already caught, the arcade there was freaking crowded, which kinda put us off, the place was PACKED which again put us off, so we decided to head our way to town. Hanjie left to go to watch a competition, so it was left with the 5 of us.
We wanted to watch a movie, but the slots weren't good, and considering the fact that it was Saturday, the rest of Singapore was probably booking tickets in the cinemas as well.
We tried looking for good timings, from Cine to Lido to PS to Cathay, trying to find good seats for a good time slot for either "28 Weeks Later" or "Bridge to Terabithia". But most of the theatres were actually reserved for "Spider-man 3"! Man, we were quite pissed, because the sheer number of theatres that Spidey3 took up was just reducing the number of theatres for other movies. Couldn't understand why so many people were still watching Spidey3 - most of the slots for it at every single cinema is sold out. Madness.
So in the end we couldn't find a movie to watch, ended up chilling at Starbucks in Cathay, where we caught up with the latest trends, hookups (among the girls), and our individual lives.
We started planning an all guys trip to Australia at the end of the year. And a fishing trip out on Anthony's new fishing boat. Kinda hyped up by that! Woo hoo! Fishing on a boat! What a life man! Anthony is gonna get a boating license, so that he can take people to Singapore's off shore islands to fish and do stuff! How cool is that?

We chatted all the way til the sun had set, then we decided to head our way down to Suki Sushi for dinner. Since we were still really full from the Dim Sum lunch, we decided to not eat the buffet and ordered a la carte instead.
The servings there were HUGE. I think all of us ended kinda bloated from the sheer amount of food we had to eat. Argh. I hope we don't suffer from indigestion.
Dinner ended at around 9, and we decided to just head home. Guess we can't handle long days out anymore without needing some form of perk-up like coffee or a nice afternoon nap. Sigh. We really are getting old. Bleah.

Really happy that I managed to meet up and catch up with the rest of the guys. That's the kind of thing you get when you have a class with a gender disparity. There were only 7 of us against 19 girls. So despite being remarkably different individuals, we really didn't have a choice - it was simply a case of guys uniting against the overwhelming oppression from the girls. Haha.
71 guys rule! Muahahaha.

just like the good ol' days
I had a day totally free from mugging yesterday (except during a brief visit to kinokuniya, where I pick up a pocket version of Netter's and ended up having a quick revision on the cranial nerves. Argh.)

Gosh, I so needed a break from the drudgery of just staying cooped up at home to mug. Its been... 6 consecutive days since I last stepped out of the house.
It was so nice to just be able to walk out of the estate, and take a bus again. And boy, I really had fun today. Over 12 hours of just hanging out in town and roaming the streets.

Met up with GAG today. Haha. Gladys is back in town from London for her Easter break, so we decided to have a reunion of sorts. So yes, it was another GAG+patron/manager outing today, the last since.... September last year.
It was great meeting up with them. Brought back lots of fond memories of our JC days. The four of us just doing so much nonsense. All the crap and rubbish and provocative statements. (mostly from me. muahaha)

We had a eating spree. Ate Ding Tai Feng @ Raffles City, then walked all the way to Dohby Gaut to go our favourite TCC haunt. Drank ice coffee, and just chatted for quite some time.
Then we decided to walk all the way to Takashimya, though we really didn't know want we wanted to do there. Ended up in Kino, like always. We always end up in kino, and just went around grabbing books with weird/provocative titles and just speculating what their contents might be about.
Followed Gladys to get her moisturizers stocked up for her trip back. She's leaving on Monday, so fast. Too short a holiday back I guess.
But anyway, in the end we couldn't decide where else to go and ended up taking the train back to Raffles City, and headed down to another of our favourite haunts - Haagen Diaz @ Esplanade. And had -what else?-chocolate fondue.

Had fun catching up with 3 of them. Gladys and her life in London. Weird lecturers, interesting stuff she's been doing, like horse riding, cooking and stuff.
Discussed alot of really weird topics as well. Lots of amusing stuff. It was just fun to get the whole dynamics of our dysfunctional group started again. Haha.

I never tried to be someone who had cliques in JC. I always saw myself as the floater in the class, the one who would float between the many different clique in 04s71. I mean, I got along with every single clique in the class: the guys, the girls, the 'Friends' and of course GAG (otherwise known as the CO gang).
But to be honest, I felt most comfortable with GAG. The times spent with the 3 of them in CO, the times spent with them sitting at the class bench crapping and making fun of them... are some of my fondest memories of JC life.

We had a weird sort of group dynamics going on. I remember someone would say something, and I would always be the one who would twist it, either in a provocative way, or turn it into some nonsensical statement: teasing them, making fun of them, just basically talking alot of crap.
Geraldine would be the reasonable one, who would either take my joke and make it funnier, or sometimes, just accept the fate of being the butt of my jokes and alex's bullying. Muahaha.
Alex was the unfortunate one. Whatever came out of his mouth, would always end up being the butt of our jokes. He just has the knack of saying so many wrong things at the wrong time.
And Gladys. The dominatrix. Haha. I remember the times were she would whack us with her books if we (or rather I) made fun of her. Even being the dominatrix didn't make her immune to my teasing though. If I wanna tease someone, I just gotta tease that poor unfortunate person. =p

And if today showed us anything, is that the dynamics of our little group has stayed pretty much the same as before.
Except, well, Gladys is less prone to violent tendencies, I'm more flippant and mad these days, Geraldine's still the same old reasonable girl... and Alex. Just can't stop himself from putting his foot into his mouth. Haha.
It was great. Brought back everything... just like how it was in the good ol' days. Oh well, looks like the next meeting we'll ever have is in July when Gladys is coming back again.

After that, waited with Geraldine for the rest of my class to come, while Gladys went out and Alex went to watch a concert.
Some of my class were going night cycling today. I was actually supposed to go, but I decided in the last minute not too. Quite sorry for pangseh-ing them, because this time, it looked like a really good plan was set out for the trip, but was just too tired from sleeping at 0330 and waking up at 0700 this morning.
And really wanted to go though. Had so much fond memories of the night cycling trip I did with almost the same bunch of people - Yisheng, Khengwee, Amanda and Yuenmei - last year in September.
So in the end decided to meet them at their first pitstop - Brewerkz at Riverside Point.

This time, the night cyclers included Yisheng, Khengwee, Yuenmei, Shinwei and Anthony. We ordered lots of food at Brewerkz, though we sorta came to the conclusion that the platter of appetizers was rather costly at 40 bucks.
But I thought the chicken wings on the platter were quite delicious though, but the rest didn't think so. So anyway, I had extra wings, their loss, totally my gain.
Also ordered a rather nice Brewerkz Pizza and an extremely delicious Bread Pudding. Oh it was heavenly. Had couple of mugs of strawberry beers and fruit punch as well (the night cyclers weren't allowed to drink too much alcohol, lest they fainted on the road or something.)

The whole gang of 6 of them tried to interrogate my about the state of my love life. I should have known lah, something was so fishy about the way they were asking questions.
I must admit that it was quite a change for me to be on the hot seat when I'm usually the one who interrogates people. HAHA.
Nice try people. All I can say is that its all on my previous blog entry and that at the moment, I have NO love life and that everything's a mess. Hahaha. So please stop asking me about it. You'll just get the same response you got today. Which is constant denial and temporary deafness on my part. =P

Walked back to VCH to take my bus though. It was 12 by the time I boared the bus. Reached home half an hour later. Am so looking forward for a wonderful night in my bed. Haha.

A whole day without touching my books. It was just a needed break from the mugging. Today its back to the books again, but still, I felt that I sorta got back my sanity back. So yes, guess I'm more prepared and motivated to keep working for the Pros again.

"Well... its a mess" "This sort of thing? Always a mess."
How true, how true. =p
